If you plan to attend the event with a prop weapon as part of your costume, please read this policy in full.
Non-compliance with the Policy can result in corrective measures, which may include being asked to leave the grounds.
Or, being fed to the resident dragon. Always read the fine print.
Surely one cannot be fully prepared for ye olde medieval times without a WEAPON!
Though, since we will have Beasts, wee Knights, and brave Squires present, we ask that ALL folks participating (Vendors, Faire Goers, Parents, and Kiddos) kindly adhere to our weapons policy:
Prop weapons or arms as part of a costume may include swords, daggers, bows and arrows, and any other items that can be reasonably deduced to be portrayed as a weapon .

- All blade-based arms with sharp edges or points must be “peace tied” or otherwise secured to the guest at all times, in a sheath/covering that protects the blade, and may never be removed from the sheath.
Arms that are exposed or not peace tied must have “stage grade” edges, in that they are totally blunt and will not pose a risk of injury to the guest or to others. - Arrows as part of a bow kit must either be peace tied together, never to be removed while on the grounds, or, must have arrow tips removed.
- Any prop weapon that is determined to be unsafe, or unable to be made safe, will be asked to leave the weapon in their vehicle or remove it from the grounds.
- All prop weapons, peace tied and non-peace tied, must never be used in roughhousing or in a dangerous or threatening manner while participating in the event. There will be a strict no-tolerance policy for using any prop weapon in an unsafe manner on the grounds.
- Vendors selling weaponry must also adhere to the Weapons Policy, in that blades, daggers, bows or knives must be fully covered once sold. Purchasers must NOT remove the covered packaging once the weapon is acquired. If one wishes to make it a part of their costume upon purchase, one must promptly see event staff at the weapons check area for peace tying.
- Security and weapons check staff will be present at admissions gates to assess all prop weapons, and assist with peace tying/securing of weapons. Staff will provide zip ties for the purposes of peace tying if you do not have a method to do so yourself at the gate.
- Failure to comply with this Weapons Policy after passing through the weapons check may result in removal from the grounds, depending on the nature of non-compliance. The safety of all faire-goers is our foremost priority and is everyone’s responsibility.
- The final command is to now stay safe and have fun!
